Nadia Dodd started the violin at age 4, taking a Suzuki pre-twinkle class taught by Hedi Hein. She grew up immersed in the Suzuki violin program at Central Valley Academy of Music and continued to study violin into highschool with her mother, accomplished violinist and teacher, Nancy Bias.
At age 11 she auditioned for, and was accepted into, the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra. She played with the youth orchestra for a few years, while continuing to perform with the Suzuki groups and even played for a number of weddings throughout high school. Most recently, Nadia has performed at the year-end concerts as CVAM alumni.
In the summer of 2018 Nadia completed the Every Child Can! and Violin Unit 1 Teacher Trainer courses at the University of Alberta Suzuki Summer Institute. Growing up surrounded by the Suzuki method and having her daughters in this program for the past 6 years, it seemed a natural step to train as a Suzuki violin teacher.
Nadia’s love of music permeates all areas of her life and she hopes to inspire students of all ages to enjoy music while teaching the skills necessary to create beautiful music themselves.
